painting happy places & inspiring you to find your own
As the years have gone on, watercolor continues to be my favorite medium. I especially love using watercolors for plein air painting. Sitting outside, breathing in the fresh air, and painting a landscape is one of my favorite things in the world. The transparent nature of watercolor is my favorite characteristic of the paint; no other medium is quite like it.
As an animal lover and an art lover, I love nothing more than to create custom drawings of the pets who mean the world to us. It is my hope to bring joy through my artwork in the same way that our pets bring so much joy into our lives. Please email me at courtneypomeroyart@gmail.com if you would like a pet portrait or with any questions. Pricing for original pet portraits starts at $150.
The creamy, beautiful texture of oil pastels mixed with pretty wood slices make for the landscapes of my daydreams.
This is a collection of artwork created with pencil in my Rustico sketchbook beginning in September 2018. Prints of some of these works are available upon request.
I use colored pencil for landscapes, wildlife, and pet portraits. Colored pencil feels like home to me, as I began my art journey with graphite pencil - but I love getting to incorporate color into these works. The largest collection of works in colored pencil are my pet portraits.
I love using pen to play with texture and especially to draw wildlife. I also enjoy mixing pen with gold, silver, and copper leaf. Monotone and metals make magic.
The Wandering Hearts Collection is a series of drawings inspired by a deep love for the diverse lands we live in. I have a big vision for this collection; my work on this series is continuing today.
Pencil was the medium that kicked off my journey of creating art. When I was given a sketchbook in sixth grade, it seemed only expected to begin with pencil. Working in pencil helped me to learn about depth, value, and shading before working with color.
I love the vibrant colors that acrylic paint provides, especially for landscapes.
To me, charcoal is a thicker and bolder sense of pencil drawing. I particularly like using charcoal for animals and landscape, as charcoal produces texture differently than pencil.
